EditorialBack once again with more apologies. Welcome along to another Radio Today. First off, apologies again for the long delay since the last issue. Hopefully this will be the last time I have to say this! Unfortunately we've suffered from three big problems over the past few months. First, several Radio Today contributors, including myself, have been rather short of time to spend on the magazine lately. As running Radio Today is not my full-time job, I have to fit in magazine production and keeping the office going into my spare time. To make more time, from the next issue I'll no longer be writing features. Joining our list of contributors is Roger Tidy, with another new name next time. Welcome along. Because we have been using a largely unproven computer system for production of Radio Today, we have been hit by various bugs. For example, it took two weeks of work last issue to be able to print out full pages and not have the last inch and a half of the page chopped off! Some extra equipment arriving soon should have this side running smoothly. Finally, problems at our printers have meant that these delays were added to, making it over a month last time between the magazine being finished and finally getting published. From now on, we hope to cut these delays to a minimum making the magazine much more up-to-date when it comes out. So, what plans have we got for the future? Well, at the moment the most urgent is to get the magazine out on time, alternate months. Monthly publication is still in the pipeline, but don't hold your breath. We won't be doing that until we're on a sounder footing and with a big enough budget (what's that?) to employ full-time staff to do the job properly. Inside this issue we've got all the usual features, plus a new Monitor section with reviews and some of the smaller features we've not known what to do with previously. We also look at what could be the future of radio in Europe, with the arrival of Radio Nova. The back of the magazine loses a couple of regular features for just this issue: we're having difficulty fitting everything in. However, as usual the Seawolf checks in with another Letter from America and we have our usual programming and technology features. We'll try and fit more in next time!
