Quite a hive of activity in this part of the world these days. Canvey Radio have suffered from a lot of DTI problems, but managed a lucky escape when the DTI turned up with a warrant for the wrong address (what, again?). Hot-Wire has closed down temporarily. ICR, who've been or the air for quite a number or months, hope to return soon. Rainbow Radio make occasional broadcasts as they have done for a couple of years now. They used to be more regular until a nasty experience with some people from the nearby BBC training centre. Radio Lola were heard broadcasting as CFM recently, whether they'll stay under this new name isn't known. Music Machine are testing at odd times, also on 1566 AM at times. It appears that the DTI squads are often these days alternating between Liverpool and London -while all is calm in London, Liverpool is getting it. Atlantis were aiming to broadcast 7 days a week, but after a raid are back to a long weekend operation. Radio Meseywaves continue as the county's leading Medium Wave pirate, and with a high standard of programmes. The rest of the stations are, on the whole, less predictable in their broadcasting habits.

Special thanks to out to the following for helping with this report: Neal West, Eric Smith, Radio Delta, Keith Stafford, Ken, Clive and Anoraks UK.
