Piecing together the history of illegal enterprises from so long ago has not been easy. If you can fill in any gaps, put me right on something or have an alternative view about what happened then do please get in touch at amfm@amfm.org.uk so they can corrected online and fixed in any future edition.
- Radio Wapping (page 228). The station had no connection to former Our Radio members. Help and transmitter equipment came from Radio Arthur, who during the miners dispute had interrupted the programmes of Radio Trent on both AM and FM with short broadcasts in support of the miners. Help had been given by the print unions during that dispute and this was reciprocated in the News International dispute. Programmes for Radio Wapping were put together using cassette decks and a simple mixer and broadcast using an 800W transmitter from the tops of tower blocks. The same equipment was used for the broadcasts against the poll tax, mentioned on page 294.
- BBC Radio London began broadcasts on 6 October 1970, not 26 October 1970 (page 23). This is correct elsewhere.
